2020 has been interesting – to say the least! But before we bid adieu to this crazy, challenging year for good, I wanted to share with you 20 of my favorite posts from throughout the year.
What to Do When You Feel Down
Call it a hole. A pit. A funk. Feeling down. The blues. Bummed out. An off day…or two…or ten… It goes by many names and it answers to them all. But no matter what you call it, it comes with this sense of helplessness. This feeling of weakness. A debilitating pressure.
A feeling like no matter what you do you won’t be able to get out of this fog of uncertainty. You’ll never be able to get “back to normal.” No matter what you do, somehow you’re not good enough.
But is what you’re feeling real? Is it true? Is what it says true? What do you do about it? Is there anything to do about it? How do you get out of it? How do you manage to keep moving day by day? What do you do when you feel down?
The Importance of Knowing Your Homeschooling Inspiration
Inspiration comes to people in many different ways. Just like no two artists share the same exact motivation for picking up a brush to create, no two teachers have the same exact inspiration behind their decision to teach. And not two moms have the same exact inspiration behind their decision to homeschool.
Yet even though the inspiration and motivation behind the decision to homeschool is different, the fact remains that everyone who loves what they do is inspired to begin in some way.
What’s your inspiration? What’s your motivation? Don’t know how to identify it?
Improve Your Focus with Purpose: Lessons from Sunflowers

It’s hard to stand among the sunflowers and feel glum, isn’t it? That’s one of the many reasons why sunflowers are my favorite flower. They are always so happy, bright and cheerful.
And here’s one of the coolest things about sunflowers: Sunflowers will literally turn their faces to the sun to soak up all of its rays. And not just in the morning! Their flower faces follow the sun as it makes its arc across the sky. No matter what, the faces of the sunflowers always face the sun!
Which got me thinking: When you step back and take a look, there are some big lessons that we can learn from these beautiful sun-facing flowers.
Adventures and Mystery Await in the National Parks: The National Park Mystery Series
Have you ever wished you could visit different national parks all around the country? Seeing the crystal clear blue waters in Crater National Park. The amazing wildlife and marshlands of Everglades National Park. The incredible colors that look like a painting in Painted Rocks National Park. The massive rock formations in Arches National Park.
But what if they could be more than national parks? What if there was a book series that explored not only the park itself, but stories about the park? What if there was a mystery to be solved set against the magnificent backdrop of a national park?
Have you heard of the National Park Mystery Series? This children’s mystery book series delivers a compelling story, an intriguing mystery, and incredible family values all set against the backdrop of some of the most awe-inspiring and spectacular places in the United States.
